Who are you and what is your business called?
My Name Is Skye Petho from Arthouse Industries.
How did you become a maker and what do you make?
I have always been a creative from a really young age and over the years have done everything from drawing, painting, sewing, silver work to my current passion of Lampworking which is making beautiful glass beads from molten glass. I specialise in wearable art and love working with glass.
What’s involved?
Glass rods are melted at a torch at about 900 degrees and the molten glass is wrapped around a metal rod to make a glass bead. These are then decorated with other coloured glass and inclusions to produce amazing beads that are then made into jewellery.
I produce everything from earrings to necklaces and love to make bespoke pieces for special events.
Where can we find your products?
My products can be found in my beautiful studio, Arthouse Industries, on Sunset Parade along with work from other local artists, one off pieces and gorgeous clothes. Arthouse Industries is a special shop that supports handmade, unique and local.
